Check the system, software and physical fit together.

The useful compatibility question is whether the complete proposed configuration works for your facility.

Original buying diagram; schematic, not installation instructions.

Four checks before buying.

A nominal panel size or a familiar brand does not establish a supported installation. Capture the existing setup, intended detector configuration, software requirements and physical mounting details. GSI can use those facts to scope the review.

  • Equipment: generator, room or mobile unit make/model and existing imaging workflow.
  • Detector: current model, connection type and intended use of a new or replacement panel.
  • Software: acquisition product/version, license ownership, workstation and archive connection.
  • Fit: holder, table and wall-stand details, external dimensions and accessories.

Describe the desired workflow.

Tell the team whether you need a dedicated detector position, frequent repositioning, system sharing or a mobile setup. A feature available within one manufacturer’s ecosystem does not automatically extend to other equipment. Confirm the exact interfaces and software configuration in the proposal.

What to send if you are not sure.

Use the “Not sure” options and describe what you know. Equipment-label photographs, the name of the current acquisition application and basic room details can be gathered during qualification. Do not send patient images or personal health information.

Ask which checks can be completed from the available documentation and whether a site survey or additional technical information is needed. The final quote should state its assumptions instead of treating incomplete details as approval.

Record what is included.

Have the proposed detector model, software scope, mounting/accessory needs and commissioning responsibilities captured in writing. That makes it easier to compare a replacement with a full retrofit and to prepare the room for installation.
